SQUARES – Two of a Kind

By the time we had spent over an hour at the tower watching for birds and just enjoying the peace, they had opened up for a great photo op on the way back towards the parking area. This was spring in full bloom in April of this year.

SQUARES – The Trashy Kind

Reddie Point is part of the Timucuan Parks Foundation. This debris is yet another example of how much trash we have in our waterways

SQUARES – Twinsie Kind

These two Mourning Dove chicks were in a hidden nest in a tree branch that my hubby cut down in the summer of 2019. He had checked for nests but missed it.

SQUARES – The Prickly Kind

Meet the Cactus Wren who just happens be stalking around a cactus, the prickly kind of plant. This was a life bird for me on this day, at this moment!

SQUARES – Kinda Hungry

This baby Bison was kinda hungry not caring that I was taking a photo. Momma and calf were spotted in a pasture near Fort Worth, Texas where they were owned by Billionaire Ross Perot Jr. Perot is a well known businessman and land developer in north Texas.

SQUARES – The Edible Kind

This week on Bird Weekly, we explored Owls. On that post at the end, I posted a photo of these Owl cookies that I made 5 years ago for my Bunco friends when I hosted the game in December, 2015. They turned out exactly like the instructions.

SQUARES – 3 of a Kind

Brown Pelicans in different strides of their flight over my head. I like the use of the negative space in this photo which I don’t use very often. Hope you like it too!

SQUARES – Nature isn’t always Kind

Sea Turtles have many natural predators on land and in the sea. Humans can be unkind without knowing it by traipsing around on top of a nest.

SQUARES – Kinda Holey

This large piece of driftwood was found on the beach a couple of weeks ago. I have to wonder what woodpecker pecked all these holes. It was too large to move so I straddled it to get a shot. I’m sure this old tree could tell some stories!

SQUARES – The Sleepy Kind

his Long-eared Owl was taking a nap in the middle of the day at the Desert National Wildlife Refuge located outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. Sleep by day so they can hunt by night.
