This Gray Catbird was hanging out in the open (not usual) near the end of the 11 mile (17.7 km) driving trail known as Black Point Drive.

Song Lyric Sunday – “Seminole Wind” by John Anderson

The lyrics take us on a journey of the destruction of natural habitat, financial gain, the devastation of the Seminole Indian people and progress.

SQUARES – Kind of Bloomed Out

The different colors almost look like autumn. This is the best example of fall colors I can get in Florida.

Sunday Stills – Happy Place – 10.18.20

Frank & I taking a selfie with Trout Lake as our backdrop.

My happy place is being outside in nature with my hubby, Frank! I’m also happy when I’m with my kids and grandkids but haven’t seen 2 of my 3 kids and none of my grandkids since January of this year due to the pandemic. I get to Facetime with them, but that is it. So for this challenge, I will stick to what I do when I can’t be with them physically.

SQUARES – Twinsie Kind

These two Mourning Dove chicks were in a hidden nest in a tree branch that my hubby cut down in the summer of 2019. He had checked for nests but missed it.

SQUARES – Nature isn’t always Kind

Sea Turtles have many natural predators on land and in the sea. Humans can be unkind without knowing it by traipsing around on top of a nest.

SQUARES – Sunset Reflection

A reflection is like two of a kind. It is the mirrored subject of itself. This photo was taken at sunset in Jacksonville, Florida overlooking the St. Johns River.

SQUARES – S’mores Anyone?

It took some real Kindling to start this fire in the fire pit to kinda settle down this 2 year old with some yummy smores! This is my oldest grandchild who is now 15 and will probably hate that I’m sharing this photo, but it is one of my favorite all time shots!

Bird Weekly Round-Up – Week #13

Some species like the white geese will become aggressive if you feed them. On more than one occasion, this has happened to us. The Florida State Fair Authority in Tampa had to have them removed from the grounds because they were attacking people getting out of their cars at the Administrative Building. The Florida Fish & Wildlife relocated them to a different location.
