With Florida being a peninsula and water on three sides of it, the St. Johns River that runs north (uphill) and the Hillsborough River running through Tampa Bay, plus Lake Okeechobee, numerous lakes and springs, Florida is the place for water!

Bird Weekly – Photo Challenge – Seagulls

Ring-billed Gull flying overhead.

I think everyone has seen a seagull at some point in their lives. They are not just a coastal species, they are inland as well. Generally, they don’t venture out to sea, except the kittiwakes. They are closely related to the terns and distantly related to auks, skimmers and other waders. They range is size of 11 1/2″ to 30″ and all basically have the same shape.

Sunday Stills – #Waterworld

Since I live in Florida and our state parks have opened back up, I thought I would share my photos from yesterday’s beach fun at Little Talbot Island State Park. They are open at a 50% capacity which has been reaching maximum capacity by 10am on the weekends.
