A STORM BREWS
slippery slope in my mind
mossy texture unwinds
subtle breeze takes hold
release to unmold.
beyond the horizon matters
dark luminous clouds gather
brewing storm barrels close
isn't that the way it goes?
mother nature decides the fate
furry lies within her wake
her anger will unleash
go quickly, begging, beseech.
declaration to the lands
pounding its body through the sands
a body of water deep and high
mixed with color of the sky.
hours later it's all over
caressed by its urgent lover
sun rays shone brightly, a new day dawn
renewed life it will spawn.

Thank you Jim. Lots of experience before, during and after hurricanes and tornadoes. π

we’ve been kind of fortunate here in PA to not experience too many extreme weather events…

Hope it stays that way. Hurricane season starts in 2 weeks. I make it sound like itβs a good thing and we should all jump on board for the ride of our lives. πππ

I’ve seen the fury that some of those hurricanes hit Florida with; hopefully you’ve never been too badly affected.

Nope. Our house is about 30 ft above sea level. If we are flooded, all of jack is under water. We have minor damage but nothing to make us homeless.

it sounds like it would not be good for a lot of people if your house got flooded…
