Bird Weekly Round-Up – Week #42

We did make it to St. Marks Wildlife Refuge and had a wonderful day of birding. You all had very inspiring photos this week and many birds that I have seen and many that I have not. Thank you for sharing your birds!

Bird Weekly Round-Up – Week #41

Reflections are mirror images of the subject against water or wet surface of any kind. It can also be from a mirror itself. Unless you have a pet bird, the mirror didn’t seem too likely this week. There were however some incredible nature reflection shots by everyone this week.

Bird Weekly Round-Up – Week #40

Black and White week is always a hit! I love this challenge when we do it as it gets us into a new dimension of creativity. Composition, contrast, lighting, textures and patterns are always things to consider when creating for black and white, but it is amazing what we can do with our color photographs.

Bird Weekly Round-Up – Week #39

For week #39 of Bird Weekly, you shared your birds that eat fish as their primary diet. Kingfishers were quite popular as I thought they would be. There were some really awesome shots whether it was a bird in action or in the act of looking for lunch or dinner!

Bird Weekly Round-Up – Week #38

Week #38 of Bird Weekly brought us “E” Birds as opposed to Ebird. Many of you shared egrets, eagles and eastern or eurasian something or another. Another fine gallery of birds this week with lots of white feathered birds that got postponed from the week prior to this week.

SQUAREs – Perspective – SeaGull

This was another moment I got down on my knees in the sand to capture a bird at eye level. He or she was a tricky one as he or she couldn’t make up his or her mind as to which way he or she wanted to go. The waves changed and started crashing up against him or her before he or she could retreat. It was a lot of patience and humorous to watch.

SQUAREs – Perspective – Red-Bellied Woodpecker

Just waiting for the fishermen to throw back those unwanted fish. Smart or Lazy? You be the judge!

SQUAREs – Perspective – Flock of Nandays

On an outing to Fort Desoto Park in Tierra Verde near St. Petersburg, I made it my mission to get the Nanday Parakeet onto my life list. I had seen them years earlier in St. Pete, but I wasn’t recording birds back then. Within 20 minutes of driving into the park, I heard them long before I saw them.

SQUAREs – Perspective – Osprey

Just waiting for the fishermen to throw back those unwanted fish. Smart or Lazy? You be the judge!

SQUAREs – Perspective – Laughing Gull

This Laughing Gull allowed for a long photo shoot a couple of weeks ago while we were at Little Talbot Island State Park.
