How would you like to eat hanging upside down?
This Red-bellied Woodpecker is an acrobatic wizard when it comes to hunting for food. Surrounded by spanish moss in the large live oak tree, this woodpecker was within 12 feet of where I was at eye level. Totally oblivious that I was there, or maybe just didn’t care…from my perspective, I’d say, just didn’t care!
“You can run, but you can not hide even from underneath the bark you have crawled under”.
Woodpeckers are featured in my Bird Weekly Photo Challenge this week if you would like to check out that post on Woodpeckers, Flickers & Sapsuckers.

I climbed a hill and the bird stayed in the tree at the top of the tree line. I was standing at the top.
