A stroll on the beach at Little Talbot Island State Park in Jacksonville, Florida a couple of weeks ago was a cool day, but the sun gave us some much needed relief from being indoors. This Sanderling was feeding and skitting around me. Armed with my camera and binoculars, I got a few good captures.

Looks so pretty! It is snowing here in Indiana.
It is cold here right now. That was a beautiful afternoon a couple of weeks ago. We hit freezing here this morning. I saw that winter storm on The Weather Channel. I’m sure it is very beautiful. π
Cute reflection. π
Thanks Irene! I love watching these little birds! π
Love this ..
Thanks. It was another magical day at the beach. π
Love these little guys; usually see lots of them wave dodging π
Yes while trying to get a nibble. π
I love this. The reflection makes it.
Thanks! They usually won’t come close to a human, but this was dancing around my feet. Several times I couldn’t even get him in the lens because he was too close. LOL! π
Wow. What a treat.
It sure was! π
Beautiful blue!
Thank you! It was the way the wind was blowing and the water was clear on that day. π
Stunning capture! Love it…
Thank you Rita! π The Sanderlings are fun little birds. π
the sun always makes things better (except sunburn…)…
True! That’s why they invented sunscreen and large umbrellas. LOL! π
and big floppy hats… π
Yes…I forgot the big floppy hat. I’m more of a ball cap or jungle hat wearer. Not the girly girl type in most things. I wear hiking shoes (replaced the combat boots) and comfy clothes. π
why does that not surprise me! π
π
Wonderful photo. I love that reflection.
Thanks Cee! I’m an opportunist. LOL! π
They fascinate me, Lisa! So single-minded as they scurry back and forth π π
Yep! Me too. I can sit in a beach chair and watch them for hours and not be bored. π
The 4th-14th-24th of each month I profile a blog follower of mine-today it my turn to tell you thanks for the follow. https://coach4aday.com/follower-february-4/
Thank you back and for featuring me in your “following” today. I was truly surprised and honored. π Hope to see you this Sunday for SLS.
Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Thank you so much and you as well. I guess we will see if I’m a happy camper tomorrow night. I forgot to comment on the Bucs. YES! I am stoked for the game! It has been since 2007 since we made the playoffs and Superbowl 37 since we won our first. There is a story there too. We went to a party and I had layered myself in every piece of Bucs clothing we owned. I looked like a linebacker. It was cold in Tampa that day. Every time they scored, I removed a layer. The final score was 48-21 and I was down to my last T-shirt as they were driving again before the game ended. I thought I was going to end up shirtless! LOL! Never in my wildest dreams did I think they would score that many points. π
I smile when I watch sanderlings. I’m not a photographer, but I got very lucky one day. I was close to them and unable to see my phone’s screen … so I just started snapping pictures. Then discovered a gem when I got inside, See it here. https://beachwalkreflections.wordpress.com/2021/02/02/36-beaches-v1/
They are pretty incredible little birds. I smile anytime I see any bird, but that is my thing! You may not be a photographer, but you have the spirit of one. We never know what we are going to get unless we try. Your sanderlings turned out awesome! π
Thanks, Lisa. The sanderlings pic was a huge surprise when I saw it!
Almost like a reflection of a reflection! Nice!
Thanks and yes you are right. π
