This week Jim Adams has prompted us with choosing songs involving Contrasts for this week’s Song Lyric Sunday.
Today I’m choosing “Hello, Goodbye by The Beatles. My best friend, Morgan and her hubby Dave are visiting this weekend. They have been socially distancing and wearing a mask when going to the grocery store like us. Morgan has rarely left her house since this began in March. They came to visit in May so we felt safe being around them. Thought this song summed up our relationship as we are always keeping each other in check.
So we will say hello to them for a short 3 days and then say goodbye!
Sorry this is the short version of my write up this week, but spending time with our friends this weekend takes precedence! Thanks Maggie for the prompt suggestion!
You say yes, I say no You say stop and I say go go go, oh no You say goodbye and I say hello Hello hello I don't know why you say goodbye, I say hello Hello hello I don't know why you say goodbye, I say hello I say high, you say low You say why and I say I don't know, oh no You say goodbye and I say hello (Hello goodbye hello goodbye) Hello hello (Hello goodbye) I don't know why you say goodbye, I say hello (Hello goodbye hello goodbye) Hello hello (Hello goodbye) I don't know why you say goodbye (Hello goodbye) I say hello/goodbye Why why why why why why do you say goodbye goodbye, oh no? You say goodbye and I say hello Hello hello I don't know why you say goodbye, I say hello Hello hello I don't know why you say goodbye, I say hello You say yes (I say yes) I say no (But I may mean no) You say stop (I can stay) and I say go go go (Till it's time to go), oh Oh no You say goodbye and I say hello Hello hello I don't know why you say goodbye, I say hello Hello hello I don't know why you say goodbye, I say hello Hello hello I don't know why you say goodbye, I say hello hello Hela heba helloa Hela heba helloa, cha cha cha Hela heba helloa, wooo Hela heba helloa, hela Hela heba helloa, cha cha cha Hela heba helloa, wooo Hela heba helloa, cha cah cah [fade out]
This classic was a popular choice today. 🙂👍

I haven’t begun looking yet. I’ve been 2 plus days behind on the blog comments. Almost caught up! I may not get to it until tomorrow with my friends here. 🙂

Thank you! I had to keep it short. They are here and I’m trying to get through my blog stuff so we can do something in a little while. 🙂

This is one of those great Beatles songs that no matter how many times you hear it you like it, and for me anyway, keep singing it all day long! Great choice. 🙂

I’m with you on that! Many Beatles songs are like that for me because when I was a preteen going to the skating rink every weekend, they played a lot of Beatles songs. Always brings back those awesome memories! 🙂

It is a super popular song here in Japan because the lyrics are quite easy for ESL learners.
