DARKNESS LOOMS
shadows cast over the field
nothing to protect or shield
crack of lightning, thunder booms
air is changing, darkness looms
long before the setting sun
closer to a smoking gun
not a building or shelter in sight
will this be alright?
above...clouds close blue skies
moments tortured, will i die?
gods ticked off for no reason
or maybe it's their season
season for the disturbed
followed by being perturbed
over more than nature needs
stop the torture, death impedes
open your heart, let heaven in
shadows lift the clouds then
splashes of rain slowly subside
carry on the happy ride
a ride the horse can proudly stand
relax and enjoy the open land
breathe fresh air in your haste
your steed gallops, gets a taste
