The flower gardens in the Bellagio Hotel on the strip in Las Vegas, Nevada, is a must see even if you are not staying in the hotel. All the item on the left and right of the bridge and the statue straight ahead were made of flowers. The display changes every few months. It is always a real treat to visit to see the imagination of the horticulturists.

It had been a bright sunshiny day on April 2nd when we went to St. Marks Wildlife Refuge for a full day of birding. As we were doing the last bit of birding, the sun that had shined bright all day was peaking through the palm trees and passed the salt marsh.

. I wanted to share it today in honor of our inspiring friend, Sue Vincent. She is dealing with terminal cancer and I want her to know that we are here for her as she has been here for us.

A look at the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Florida from the boat dock as the sun was going down. The Matthews Bridge is in the background.

Night time in the village 2020. Nothing is to scale so please don’t judge but I enjoy putting this together every year. The town is different each year as I add new pieces and have to build it differently depending on what I purchase.

As the sun went down, our moods went up! A beautiful sunset over a body of water always does the trick. This fabulous sunset created a euphoria to end a great day of birding at Fort Clinch State Park in Fernandina Beach, Florida.

What a challenging year 2020 was in many respects. I began my year with a birding blog on January 5, 2020 called “Today is for the Birds” with great excitement because I had just written my first guest blog with Jacksonville Business Connections through my job titled “Unlock the Bird Lover in You for 2020”. Little did I know that it wouldn’t last.
