Here is my entry for Granny Shot It’s Bird of the Day (BOTD) challenge.
In a pond full of waterfowl, the Redhead is not hard to spot. With it’s cinnamon red head & black chest, even the beginning birder will identify this medium-sized duck easily. During migration in the winter, here in Florida, we will see them with other species such as the Northern Pintail, Ruddy Ducks, Ring-Necked Ducks, Coots, Galliules, Scaups, Teals & Mergansers. The Redhead tends to stand out like a sore thumb, but a lot less painful! Looking forward to seeing them in the next few months.
