In the crossover states, it is almost impossible to 100% identify which bird you are looking at unless you can get a photo or you are an expert.
We had a Red-Headed Woodpecker living in a tree at the end of our street for 3 years.
Papa Owl was just above sitting on a branch with eyes wide open.
The Magpie cursed my camera.
Here is my entry for Granny Shot It’s Bird of the Day (BOTD) challenge. Little Blue Heron posing on a branch in shallow water. The reflection is almost as amazing as the bird itself. One of our favorite wadding birds.
