I live in Jacksonville, FL. I am graphic designer, writer, photographer and published author. I am now taking those passions & putting them into a blog that I mostly abandoned for two years. After a lot of surgeries and medical problems, I am starting to write again. I love birds & consider myself a “more than average” birder. I have 3 grown children & 8 grand children (6 living). I’m married to my soul mate, Frank. We love to travel & get out somewhere most weekends (soon to be anytime).

Are you sure you want to use the word “f _ ttering” in your haiku, Lisa? Methinks the word “fluttering” would be more appropriate, wouldn’t you say?

Thanks Skip! It’s been a really rough day today! I’m thinking it’s time to go take some Tylenol and watch some TV. π

It’s some kind of Asclepias but I don’t know the variety. I just call them butterfly plants. π

This variety is one of my favorite butterflies. They are such a contrast in the garden.

Absolutely! We’ve had some swallow-tails for the past month but I don’t have any great shots of them. I need to take my camera when I walk my dog. That is when I see them. π

I see them fluttering around some of my flowering bushes. One in particular they seem to like.

Same with us. We have two large flower gardens that attract butterflies, bees & hummingbirds. Gotta love it! π

I am thinking I need to move more of my vegetables to this part of the yard as the tree steals the pllenators from the garden

Interesting theory. We don’t have veggies. Too much shade in the back & I just don’t want them in our front yard. We do have herbs though. That is nice! π
