Here is my entry for Granny Shot It’s Bird of the Day (BOTD) challenge.
We usually see the Black-bellied Whistling Ducks in the winter months in North Florida, however they are listed as a year-round bird. I was just down in Tampa last weekend and was excited to see 3 of them fly over while I was driving in Wesley Chapel. My best friend lives on a pond, where this photo was taken. They are so named because you can often hear their high pitched whistle before you can see them. They are colorful beautiful ducks!
