Week #15 challenge was Birds with Green Feathers. Green is defined by mixing the two primary colors of blue and yellow which we all learned in grade school. Along with blue & purple, it is considered a cool color whereas, red, orange and yellow are warm colors. Well, there were some COOL birds shared this week! Did you know that green is the second most favorite color just after blue. Green is associated with the color of peace. It is the color of life, renewal, nature and energy.
Week #14 challenge was Flocks. We had some wonderful entries of birds I am well versed in seeing and so many that I’ve never seen before that included all kinds of shorebirds, turkeys, ducks, geese, pelicans, gannets, lorikeets, cedar waxwings, magpies, cockatoos & parrots from Australia…and PUFFINS. My dream bird! Puffins! PLUS – Razorbills!
Some species like the white geese will become aggressive if you feed them. On more than one occasion, this has happened to us. The Florida State Fair Authority in Tampa had to have them removed from the grounds because they were attacking people getting out of their cars at the Administrative Building. The Florida Fish & Wildlife relocated them to a different location.
