This part of Death Valley is 282 feet (85.5 meters) below sea level. We were only part of the way down towards the bottom.

On the 4th day of our vacation, we paddled the Yellowstone River in Montana. At one point, we had a problem with water coming into the boat. We pulled over along the river rocks, unloaded and fixed the scupper.

Moving along the river with his cows, was the biggest bull elk we had seen in either Yellowstone or Grand Teton. We had seen some big bulls but this guy was a monster. If a large bull elk weighs 700 lbs, this bull would have been at least 800 lbs.

It was bright sunny blue skies when we began, but by the time we approached our destination, storm clouds were edging closer and we had no idea how close we were to that final takeout at the Paradise Gateway Bed & Breakfast.

Staying in the Tiny House is much different than staying in the main house. Even though you have your own private room and bathroom in the main house, staying in the Tiny House gives you a sense of independence that you don’t feel in the main house.
