Tricolored Heron getting a little close to a large gator.

Fantastic shots, Lisa 👏 The alligator looks totally bored 😂 Who won in the end?

It was a draw. Maybe the gator had just eaten. Look at how fat he was! Not sure he could have moved fast enough before the heron flew. LOL! 🙂

I was startled by a few alligators in Texas too. Good shot.

I only get startled if they are large and close. Otherwise, I suppose you get used to having them around. We are cautious but if I was scared of them, I’d never go outside. We would never hike or bird in Florida.

I suppose so, but for someone not accustomed to them they are quite frightening.

Yikes! It makes me think of the recent story of the guy rescuing his puppy from the jaws of an alligator. Good shots of Mother Nature in action.

Yes, it was a heroic thing he did, but the gator he wrestled was only about a 3-5 foot gator. It wasn’t that big but if he hadn’t done it, his puppy was gone. The gator in this photo was large! Very large! 12-14 feet! It wouldn’t have eaten that man. We were on the opposite bank so I wasn’t worried and he was sunning himself. Not likely to move. 🙂

Yes, and I’m sure there will be more in my future. We are planning on going birding for several days next week. I can’t wait! I’m sure we will see a few gators along the way. 🙂

Thanks Rita. Not sure where we are going. Will check the bird sightings & weather the night before & decide where we are going. 😊

We were on the opposite bank. That big ole’ thing would have had to cross the water and reach the other side before we would be gone. 🙂

We certainly did. My BFF & hubby came from Tampa to visit for 4 days. It’s just the 2 of them and we all social distance the same and only go where we have to go. FaceTime my kids and grandkids. 🙂

Absolutely! They said it was their best Christmas in a long time. We played cards & watched movies. Great to hang out with humans other than ourselves. 😜

Yes it is. I’ve always said I’d be happy in the mountains as long as I had internet. Not sure I believe my own words. I like people too much. 😊
