Every year the United States Navy Blue Angels come into Jacksonville for a couple of air shows. We haven’t been since 2009, but we see them fly over our house during training. These photos were taken with my old Nikon D50 that had a bad sensor at the time. They turned out pretty darn good considering my dilemma. I’ve had two more cameras since this time. I would love to go again in the near future to shoot with my Sony & full frame lens that I have now which is far superior. The next show in Jacksonville is scheduled for April 11, 2021 and I hope we are able to go.

The Blue Angels is celebrating their 74th anniversary this year and the 34th year flying the Boeing F/A-18 Hornet seen in these photos. The Blue Angels have performed for nearly 500 million fans since 1946. In 2015, the first female Blue Angel pilot, U.S. Marine Captain Katie Higgins was selected to pilot the Blue Angels’ Lockheed Martin C-130T Hercules transport aircraft.
