Week #46 challenge was Birds perched on anything.
Disclaimer: If anyone has an issue with me using their photos in the round ups, please kindly let me know. I haven’t had anyone say anything, but I don’t want you to think I’m using your photographs for personal gain. I’m here to show what great work you are doing with your photography by showing you off in these posts.
Last week we shared birds in flight which is a bit more difficult than birds perched up hanging out. We have birds coming in from all over the world. I want to welcome the newcomers this week and I hope you will visit their blog. Perched is defined as: alight or at rest. Well, we know that while birds certainly perch to rest, they also perch to eat and perch to take a look around as they are always on guard, looking for predators.
This was our second highest participation in one week. Thank you all for sharing your birds with everyone through Bird Weekly!
I encourage you to visit these blogs if you haven’t already and see what amazing things they have going on. If I missed your post or there was a problem with a pingback, please let me know and I will be glad to add you to the list. Remember to pingback from my post of that week and not my page. Liking my page is encouraged!
Next up: Week #47: Birds with a color in their name (Yellow Warbler, White Ibis, etc.).
VISIT MY BIRD WEEKLY PAGE FOR A FULL LIST OF UPCOMING CHALLENGES AND RULES!
I look forward to seeing your creations this week!
Great wrap-up Lisa. I thought the Wagtail on the cows would have been the featured one lol

I thought it about it but I just couldn’t stop looking at that beautiful blue-purple eye! She spoke to me. 🙂 Purple is my favorite color.

And a lot of work from you to pull it all together 🙂

Yeah, there’s that but I enjoy it! It is the hardest part of all my blogs and takes a few hours to do. I benefit from it though. If I ever go on vacation for a long period of time, would you mind taking a week? It will be a while but I will either shut it down while I’m gone or find some hosts to fill in for that time. Interested? 🙂

As long as I’m not away myself I’d be happy to do it 🙂 At the moment I blog almost daily but when things open up again I may not keep that up, as we’re itching to travel again! But if I can help, yes 🙂

Great! We will cross that bridge when we come to it. I appreciate it just knowing there is possibility there. I don’t have a problem with shutting it down if and when that time comes. 🙂

What a great bunch of perching birds. Jesus is chatting up a parakeet by the way, not a parrot!

Thanks for the correction. I’ll go fix it on the post. Brain-fingers were not working! It was late last night when I was finishing up the round up. I think I had already taking my ambien too. LOL! 🙂

Excuses! But you obviously know so much more than me – I regard you as a go-to expert if I have bird-related issues.

Ambien isn’t an excuse, it’s a reality. LOL! If I stay up too late after I take, I cannot be responsible for what I might say or do (nothing malicious…just goofy). I don’t sleep without it and that is a fact! Thank you from the bottom of my little bitty bird heart! I’m originally from Texas so I got the BS down pretty good. Fake it til you make it. You’ve got me on a role today! hehehe! 🙂

I love the pictures from the whole list. Great stuff! Especially the bird on the finger of the statue. I looks almost posed!

I know, doesn’t it? This was an awesome week! Woolly just put his in. I added it late because he had surgery this week. He had a cool Lilac-breasted roller in his that I just added to it. Such a beautiful colorful bird. 🙂

Thanks again, Lisa, for your sharp eyes as you identified the swallow as “purple-green!” On close inspection from my zoom lens, both purple and green adorn those little guys! A wonderful array of perched birds!

You are welcome! If you have a field guide (Sibley’s), it is a process of elimination. I have a Eastern US and Western US. Some hummers are still hard because there are hybrids where different species have intertwined with the other. LOL! 🙂
