Pond in the St. Marks Wildlife Refuge near the end of the walking trail along the Tower Trail.

A couple of weeks ago, Frank & I travelled to the St. Marks Wildlife Refuge near Tallahassee, Florida where we spent 9 hours birding. It is a 3 hour drive one-way from where we live. We hiked 3 miles to this back pond hoping to find the American Flamingo but to no avail. We did see some American Avocets and other birds. No good photos as they were further than my lens would reach. The reflections were incredible though.

🙂 I’m actually ready to get back out there but I had some big orders this week and it’s been chilly. We did get to the beach for a couple of hours. 🙂

Beautiful shot, Lisa 👏 I love it when a bit of movement in the water softens the reflections 😃

It was such a beautiful day and the late afternoon got really still. At least it was cool and the bugs were not swarming us. 😉
