Tandem skydivers coming down after going up and being dropped off in a plane. Perfect blue skies set the background.

Yesterday, on our way to Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge in Titusville, Florida, we stopped at the grocery store to pick up some fresh bread. I walked out of the store and looked UP and saw these tandem skydivers floating down with a pink & purple parachute just above us. What a perfect opportunity for a photo for January UP squares. I ran to the car and grabbed my camera and got a few shots off. Our birding adventure afterwards was the best day we’ve ever had! More to come on that.

So happy to be back for squares in 2021!

Now that’s what–before the digital era arrived–we used to call a “Kodak Moment.” Lucky for you, Lisa. I missed my moment somewhere around the latter part of 1989 while driving from Brooks Air Force Base to Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio. Just as I arrived on the Kelly periphery a Boeing 747 was getting ready to touch down at Kelly. Talk about being in the right place at the right time, we crossed paths. Key here is the fact that this 747 was landing with a space shuttle on its back. Wow! As I looked up at the 747-Shuttle package, the shuttle seemed so huge that it made the 747 look like an itty-bitty puddle jumper. Bummer for me since I didn’t have my camera with me. In the grand scheme of things, though, it really doesn’t matter since the memory of that extraordinary sight and sound moment was burned into my brain for eternity. πŸ™‚

Yes a β€œKodak Moment”. My grandmother always had a Kodak disposable camera lying around. I wished I’d had a real camera earlier in my life but the digital era hit when I really got into it. What site seeing that 747 with the space shuttle on its back. Would have loved to have seen that. 😊

Methinks a 747-space-shuttle-like moment is in your future, Lisa. Patience rules for the realization of those unexpected, spectacular moments waiting for you “just around the corner.” πŸ™‚

Well, I won’t be seeing a shuttle riding upon a 747 anytime soon since they just don’t do that anymore. I did see the launch of the last flight of Atlantis. You just gave me a spectacular idea. I’m preparing my Squares post right now. Stay tuned. πŸ™‚

Thanks. My old self had to run to the car to grab the camera before they go below the tree line. I’m so out of shape. πŸ˜‚
