Week #51 challenge was Birds with stripes, spots or freckles. (6/11/21).
Disclaimer: If anyone has an issue with me using their photos in the round ups, please kindly let me know. I haven’t had anyone say anything, but I don’t want you to think I’m using your photographs for personal gain. I’m here to show what great work you are doing with your photography by showing you off in these posts.
I’m keeping this short and sweet! So sorry I’m so late with the roundup. Today is the first day I have felt like sitting at the computer for a short period of time to do this.
My foot surgery went well. The tendon was torn in the direction of the tendon so it was repaired and not replaced which is the best case scenario. I’ve been out of it for the past few days and am heading back to the comfort of my couch in just a moment.
I did want to remind you that Bird Weekly #52 Birds with Long Tail Feathers (6/18/21) was guest hosted by Sarah at Travel with Me. Please set your pingback to her post. Click on the link below to get to Sarah’s post.

LOL! I did go back to the couch and have been up most of the day. I’m hurting a bit, but I’m having some machinery problems with my business. I’m giving up for the night and these order will have to wait until tomorrow. π

May yours be a speedy and Bristol-fashion kind of recovery, Lisa, so you can get back to the top of your game.

Thanks Skip! Off the painkillers but still have some pain and discomfort. I see my podiatrist tomorrow. He will change the bandage. I’m in a full splint at the moment so I’m hoping that will not go back on. π

I’m glad they were able to repair rather than replace the tendon. The results of repair are usually better than replacement. I have a torn anterior Crucis ligament that I’ve never had repaired because the surgery is dicey, recovery is prolonged, and often doesn’t work, so unless one is an athlete, it’s just not worth it. There apparently IS no “repair” to that ligament and anyway, while I have to be careful about the knee, it has never seriously crippled me though it has caused some unexpected falling down events where the knee just isn’t there when I need it.
Having it repaired is great. Just take your time and LET IT HEAL. Properly and fully. You can’t hurry ligament and tendons. If you don’t give them enough time, they can tear again. So be good, be patient, and enjoy the birds π
As it happens, I actually don’t HAVE any long-tailed birds around here so I’ll skip this one. Maybe the next one will be more in my ballpark.

Thanks Marilyn! I appreciate it. Went to the dr. today and the foot looks good. The surgeon did a fantastic job. I got a new bandage and can now go into a boot, getting out of the splint. I still wheeling around for a while though. I’m not out seeing birds and they are hiding in my yard. I saw a Mississippi Kite over our house when we left to go to the dr. Take care of that knee and I totally understand the risk of not having the surgery. π

Thanks so much I. J. It’s going good so far. Had my check up today. The area looks great. Got a new bandage and get my stitches out on 7/6. No walking for a few weeks still but I’m on my way. YAY! π

I hope so. Still have some real pain but get the stitches out on Tuesday. Iβve been taking it slow because I canβt move in my normal speed on this scooter. Iβm ready to get outside for sure. π

Me too! I’m living with it. No pain pills. Just ibuprofen, but the good ones. π LOL!

pain pills seem to be a mixed blessing since many people seem to get addicted to them…
LikeLiked by 1 person
That is absolutely true. I’ve never gotten addicted. They clog me up and I’d rather poop than get high and itch everywhere. Not my style. It is a sad predicament that many people deal with and I’m fortunate. I’ve had a lot of surgeries in my lifetime and always stop the pain pills with plenty left in the bottle to throw away. π

I’ve done the same with pain pills as well; I want no part of such an addiction…

Glad you’re starting to feel a little more yourself but don’t rush things! I was very happy to host as you know, but it’s good to see you back in action – but again, don’t rush! By the way, pingbacks don’t seem to be working on my blog posts so I hope people will add links to their posts in comments either on my page or yours.

I think they are working okay. I will go see what I can find. I’ve gotten a couple but they were pinged to different posts. I’m probably not doing bird weekly again tomorrow. I’ll push everything back a week. I doing okay, but in a lot of pain. I had a piece of equipment break yesterday and have spent way more time trying to get my orders out than I should have. Plus a friend of mine in Texas passed away on Sunday and I just found out today. My heart and energy just isn’t in it. π

I’m sorry to hear about your friend π€ It makes sense for you to have a break tomorrow. I’d offer to host again but it’s short notice and I’m going to be out all day. I hope you feel better soon!

I appreciate it. I wasnβt going to ask because it was short notice. Iβm a planner and it was a simple adaptation. I hope you have had or still having a wonderful time away. π
