All about the birds…all the time!

Semipalmated Plover located at Huguenot Park in Jacksonville, Florida on the last day of 2020.
Semipalmated Plover

The last photo from my Sony A6300 on 12-31-2020 while birding at Huguenot Park in Jacksonville, Florida was the Semipalmated Plover. It was the only plover on the beach from over a 1000 shorebirds. Not sure how I spotted it. Maybe because it was by itself and was smaller than the others.

Looking through the windshield of my car at the bird poop from the American Robins that were held up in my trees. They migrated a early.
Bird Poop

American Robins have migrated a bit early and left me a present on my windshield. There were hundreds of them in the trees in my backyard. I found the poop in my line of site when I got into my car. Wasn’t that nice of them? This was 12-30-2020. Last pic on my IPhone.

LOL! The Ibises pooped all over our driveway this morning. We had about 50 adults and juveniles digging for grubs. Natural fertilizer, but left a mess! Happy New Year to you as well! ๐Ÿ™‚

Nope! We walked Heaven yesterday and there was large white splatter on the street. Frank was like, “what is that?”. I said I guessed it was the Ibises and he reluctantly agreed.

How sad and lonely is that?! Even its posture looks depressed!

Awe! I thought he was happy to be away from the crowd. There was a seagull near him but I cropped him out. ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s where the poop seems to land most of the time…

It sure is. The ibises left a trail this morning in our driveway. There were about 50 of them in my front yard. Natural pesticide. LOL! ๐Ÿ™‚

LOL! It’s going to rain tomorrow. Save water! We had to watch Heaven. She kept wanting to lick it. YUCK!

Silly dog, nooo!! Send rain, the desert southwest needs it so badly. All the rain seems to stay in the central and southern states now.

I’d be glad to send you some of the rain. Poor Heaven hasn’t had her walk yet today because of it. It is cooling off again. We’ve had 80 degree days the past couple of days. I managed to not turn my AC on though. Barely! ๐Ÿ™‚

I often crop my photos because I only have 200mm lens. I was leaving for the post office to drop off my orders when I got in my car and saw that nastiness. Looked up in the trees and it was covered in robins. LOL! ๐Ÿ™‚

Of course! But they came back yesterday and they are back today. They eat all our berries from the trees and then fly north. ๐Ÿ™‚

The last time I saw a lot of Robins was when we had a bad case of grubs in our front lawn. One day about 100 robins flew down and started eating. They ate every grub on the lawn. Everybody else was trying to poison them, but we had Robins.

They don’t come to our feeders because they are true insect eaters and we offer just seeds. They sometimes come by for a drink of water, but they don’t stay and we haven’t had any more invasions of grubs. But I’ll never forget seeing that whole flock come down to eat grubs. They were such happy Robins.

They eat the berries out of our trees. They don’t come to the feeder because we only have seeds. We have meal worms but only put them out at certain times. Like in April when the Carolina Wrens have babies in their nest. We help raise them. LOL! ๐Ÿ™‚
