Sunday Stills – Auburn – 11.15.20

The feature image is a sunset over the dunes at Little Talbot State Park in Jacksonville, Florida.

This post is in response to TERRI WEBSTER SCHRANDT Sunday Stills challenge. The theme this week is Auburn.

Auburn is a color between red and brown. It can be dark to light with gradients in between. Today I have given you sunsets, birds, an insect, a gator, rock formations in Arizona and a fall classic.

Sun rays shining through nearing sunset.
God shining all kinds of colors down including shades of auburn.

These photos have been taken over the years mostly in our winter time. Florida doesn’t see true fall colors until December or January when the rest of the country is having winter. The photo above is of me and my daughter Kaela with Andy Hillstrand from the Time Bandit. If you are a Deadliest Catch fan, you will know who he is. Andy hasn’t been on for several seasons, and the Time Bandit hasn’t been on the show for a couple of seasons now. This photo was taken in 2010.

My hair was still auburn. Now it is lighter brown with gray. My daughter’s hair is still this beautiful color that highlights shades of auburn.

‘Tis wonderful to witness how splashes and brush strokes of auburn bring enchanting joy to this place, The Third Rock. Nice going, Lisa.

Thanks Skip. It was fun to go through my archives and find all these images that had something in common. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I remember those episodes with the Time Bandit, I don’t watch the show much these days. Your daughter is lovely. โ˜บ๏ธ

I still watch it every year. My daughter knows one of the past crew members of the Time Bandit. She is a lot older now. We both are. 10 years does that. Thanks for the compliment. She is quite lovely. ๐Ÿ˜Š

That is a great milestone! I’m only 5 years behind you and Frank turned 65 this year. He is a real senior now being on Medicare and all. LOL! I’m glad too, my insurance was expensive and COBRA was a bear after losing my job. I don’t have insurance anymore, but I have the VA so I’ll stick with that until I can get my shop making real money. Maybe by next November, open enrollment, I will be able to get more healthcare. The VA is okay, but not great! ๐Ÿ™‚

Insurance is nothing like it was years ago, and my insurance cost per month for myself is ludicrous! I’m not eligible for those programs which is good, but not. When does one become a senior? 50?

Well, according to AARP, 38. LOL! I kinda consider it 60, but medicare kicks in at 65. Frank doesn’t act 65. He acts more like he’s in his 40’s and occasionally 18. We have surround sound and there are times he cranks of The Who or The Beatles just like a teenager. It’s deafening. LOL! I suppose I’m a senior so now I can get a discount at restaurants that I’m not going to because of COVID. Dang it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Better to skip the restaurants, sadly. I an like your husband at times, in my truck I really crank up the jams! I have a flash drive with hundreds of my favorite tunes from many years ago. I still feel 21 in my head, it’s not fair! 38 is ridiculous, I strongly dislike that organisation because of it’s politics. I’ll hit 60 in less than 30 days, bummer…

I never jointed it and never intend to either. So, you were a Christmas baby? I think we are all 21 in our heads! LOL! ๐Ÿ™‚

Yeah, a Christmas baby! My birthday is close to Christmas, people have asked me if I felt ripped off by this. Of course not!

My grandmother’s birthday was Christmas day. She teased that it bothered her, but it didn’t. She was the most giving person I’ve ever known and a Christian. She was honored to share her day with Jesus. She would cook for the entire family of 70 or more people on Christmas, but there were a few years that all the kids and cousins kicked her out and cooked in her kitchen on her birthday.

Yeah, when she passed away at 92 in 2000, she had 74 grandkids, greats and great-greats living. There were more that had passed away before their time. She had 5 kids, one of them had 7 and of those 7, one of them had 8 I think. Then there were all the others. ๐Ÿ™‚
