My friend, Jim Borden has opened my eyes to a charity that can benefit local schools in your area in the United States. I will be donating to one of our schools not far from my home. My kids are grown & my grandkids live in the Tampa area and I could give to a teacher there if I choose. Really cool program! Check it out! Thanks Jim for the information. 🙂

I first wrote about the wonderful non-profit organization, DonorsChoose, over five years ago. In fact, it is one of the posts that were part of my initial foray into blogging through a 30-day challenge.

Lisa, my sister is a school administrator and she told me about this organization a few years ago. I love that you can pick the school and even the teacher that you would like to receive your gift. Thanks for the reminder.

I love that about it too. I’m so glad that Jim posted this again and I read about it. The kids of the future need as much as they can get. This year seems to be so much worse than years past. 🙂
