SQUARES – Perspective – Florida Palm Trees

Sun is beginning to set stationed just behind the left palm tree over an inlet of the Gulf of Mexico near Fort Myers, Florida a few years ago. This is paradise! Until a hurricane comes around. Enjoy it while you can because it will look totally different during a tropical storm or hurricane. Take the good with the bad!

Love it down there. Been a while since I’ve been to Sanibel too. 😊

My father is in St. Petes. I love the area. I am excited to get down there and see all the new work they did on the pier downtown.

I love the area too, but it is too humid down there for me now. My kids & grandkids are in Tampa. We were in Tierra Verde in January with perfect weather. Because of the pandemic, we haven’t been back down. I’ve only seen my kids & grandkids on FaceTime. Just from photos, the Pier area will be a very nice experience. Jacksonville is getting a facelift downtown near the river too. It will be a few years before it is complete.

I want to go down there while my father and stepmother are still alive. I don’t think I could stay forever. I don’t mind the heat so much as the idea that that’s it. I love the area and wouldn’t mind renting for a bit but I don’t think that is where I want to retire and spend all of those years. David and I keep going back and forth about what to do. Most of it depends on him getting a job there and me selling my house. I love the East Coast up near Palm Coast. I hadn’t realized how beautiful the east coast is because I spend my time on the west coast. I love the crystal clear waters down near Sanibel Island but once you move somewhere that far down you are stuck as to any kind of land travel.

Palm Coast is 45 minutes from me. It’s getting crowded fast. We love the east coast & love our beaches here in Jacksonville. Well, the State Park beaches. 😊

My boyfriend is applying for jobs down there. He is in sales, or actually wants to return to sales. We would really like to be in the Jacksonville area over the west coast. He doesn’t want to be land-locked with a sales position.

That would be so awesome if you ended up in Jacksonville. Once we don’t have to social distance, we could get together. There are not a lot of jobs here, at least not for me since I lost mine to COVID. I’m doing my own thing now anyway. 🙂

Yes, move and know someone already! What a perk. I resigned from teaching after losing my son. I just couldn’t find empathy for high school students who would tell me how much they hated school, my son loved learning. Anyhow, I may look into administration, I do have that cert. but right now I am blogging and making stuff.

I’m sorry to hear about your son. We’ve lost 2 granddaughters in the past 11 years. My daughter’s. I can only see through the glasses of a grandmother. Maybe a new start is just what you need wherever that leads you. You will have a friend here if you make it to Jacksonville. Well…whether you do or not, I’m honored to call you a friend. I’m making things too. Just opened my Etsy store. Will be writing a blog about it in a few days. After Becky’s squares. 😊

I opened an Etsy store too! I appreciate your friendship and I do agree that I need a fresh start. I am just trying to get my house fixed up and have to get it on the market. Probably not until spring unless David gets a job, because the economy is so shaky.

Yes the economy is shot at the moment. What kind of this do you make? What is the name of your store?

This just popped up in my comments…Sorry I am so late in responding. My shop is called Stine Writing. I sell handbound journals, miniatures, and a few pieces of jewelry. I have a lot of jewelry to sell, as I used to make it a lot, but I packed it away last year when I thought I was selling my house and haven’t taken it back out. I love making the journals though.

Very true we so often need to accept the bad with the good – wonderful view

It is certainly my outlook but I’d never live in California. I’d rather be blown away by a hurricane than buried alive by an earthquake. 😁

It really was gorgeous that day and into that evening. Now we have a possible tropical storm/hurricane heading our way. We are already going to be on the “I” name and it’s not even August yet. Ugh! 🙂

Now it is forecast to be a hurricane but it may stay east of Jacksonville. Should know more tomorrow. We live in a solid house and not in flood zone. 😊
