Song Lyric Sunday – Hello

This week Jim Adams has prompted us with choosing songs involving Same | Different for this week’s Song Lyric Sunday.

I went outside the box on the theme this week and chose “Hello” by Lionel Richie and Adele. The same title, two completely different song melody and lyrics. Each song was written by their singer, respectively. Not feeling well today so this will be short & sweet.

Both songs and artist hold their place in the musical history books!

“Hello” by Lionel Richie

I've been alone with you inside my mind
And in my dreams I've kissed your lips a thousand times
I sometimes see you pass outside my door
Hello, is it me you're looking for?
I can see it in your eyes, I can see it in your smile
You're all I've ever wanted and my arms are open wide
'Cause you know just what to say, and you know just what to do
And I want to tell you so much, I love you
I long to see the sunlight in your hair
And tell you time and time again how much I care
Sometimes I feel my heart will overflow
Hello, I've just got to let you know
'Cause I wonder where you are and I wonder what you do
Are you somewhere feeling lonely or is someone loving you?
Tell me how to win your heart, for I haven't got a clue
But let me start by saying, I love you
Hello, is it me you're looking for?
'Cause I wonder where you are and I wonder what you do
Are you somewhere feeling lonely or is someone loving you?
Tell me how to win your heart, for I haven't got a clue
But let me start by saying, I love you
I love you
I love you
Is it me you're looking for?
Hello, is it me you're looking for?
'Cause I wonder where you are and I wonder what you do
Are you somewhere feeling lonely or is someone loving you?
Tell me how to win your heart, for I haven't got a clue
But let me start by saying, I love you
I love you
I love you
Hello, is it me you're looking for?
Is it me, is it me, is it me
Is it me you're looking for?
Is it me, is it me

Hello” by Adele

Hello, it's me
I was wondering if after all these years you'd like to meet
To go over everything
They say that time's supposed to heal ya
But I ain't done much healing
Hello, can you hear me?
I'm in California dreaming about who we used to be
When we were younger and free
I've forgotten how it felt before the world fell at our feet
There's such a difference between us
And a million miles
Hello from the other side
I must've called a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry
For everything that I've done
But when I call you never
Seem to be home
Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I've tried
To tell you I'm sorry
For breaking your heart
But it don't matter, it clearly
Doesn't tear you apart anymore
Hello, how are you?
It's so typical of me to talk about myself, I'm sorry
I hope that you're well
Did you ever make it out of that town
Where nothing ever happened?
It's no secret
That the both of us
Are running out of time
So hello from the other side (other side)
I must've called a thousand times (thousand times)
To tell you I'm sorry
For everything that I've done
But when I call you never
Seem to be home
Hello from the outside (outside)
At least I can say that I've tried (I've tried)
To tell you I'm sorry
For breaking your heart
But it don't matter, it clearly
Doesn't tear you apart anymore
Ooooohh, anymore
Ooooohh, anymore
Ooooohh, anymore
Anymore
Hello from the other side (other side)
I must've called a thousand times (thousand times)
To tell you I'm sorry
For everything that I've done
But when I call you never
Seem to be home
Hello from the outside (outside)
At least I can say that I've tried (I've tried)
To tell you I'm sorry
For breaking your heart
But it don't matter, it clearly
Doesn't tear you apart anymore

      • It’s was strange whatever it was. It was like all my energy was gone and I just didn’t feel good. Been okay the last 2 days. Unless there’s an emergency, I won’t be getting bloodwork until November. I can call my doctor if I have to but would rather not at the moment. 😊

      • I can understand your reticence at ringing your Dr at the present time. Do keep an eye on yourself Lisa, pandemic or no we still can get other ailments.take care πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

      • Yes, I know. I check my blood pressure…it’s good! I have a cuff from years ago because it was high. I’m not on any meds, but still check it every now and again because I’m not going to the dr. Even when I had my checkup – over the phone…I checked my BP & Temp for them so they could record it in my records. I’m feeling better. I took an allergy pill on Sunday (non-drowsy) and wonder if it was a batch that had the “knock you” ones in it. πŸ™‚
