SQUARES – Perspective – Paddling the St. Johns River

Perspective comes in many different forms. In the photos attached, there are 4 different perspective shots at different moments while Frank and my youngest daughter Kaela were paddling the St. Johns River looking for bait to go fishing. The perspective for me is that this was taken 13 1/2 years ago. Frank looked so young!

Kaela was 14. She will be 28 this fall. THAT’S PERSPECTIVE!

Where did the time go?

No it doesn’t. By this time my other two were grown & I had one granddaughter. The oldest granddaughter is 15. Older than Kaela was here. Ugh! Now I really feel old! πŸ˜‰

I know. I called my daughter & told her to go look at herself and she had forgotten about that. Mom gets nostalgic! 😊

you can do 2 separate ones or get a tandem one like we had and paddle together. We are looking to get another one, but there are none available around here. πŸ™‚

Several years ago I thought about just building one. The design I settled on was a skin boat like a lot primitive cultures made. Only instead of animal skins you use cotton canvas. The frame is a little flexible and will kinda move with the water. The cotton is stretched over the frame like a drum and painted with oil based paint to make it waterproof. The whole kayak is less than 20 pounds if done right and some people make so it will fold up like an umbrella.
.. so many projects… so little time.

That actually sounds wonderful. I have to have a nice seat with a comfortable back. I have a bad back so that is a luxury Frank & I have to have no matter what. πŸ™‚

Having one with a high BAC for a whatever type of seat you want shouldn’t be a big problem. You just figure out what works and incorporated into the design😊

This is true. We have our adjustable seats that were in this kayak that we now use in our inflatable. 😊
