Please find my contribution for this weeks #SundayStills photography challenge, βFor the Birdsβ hosted by Terri Webster Schrandt.
As an avid birder, I could have gone on for days and flooded this blog with bird photos. I decided I had other things needing my attention today. I did include photos that were taken in January or February of their perspective years. The Brown Thrasher is usually a spring/summer bird, but we had one in our backyard last week.
These woodpecker photos were taken in my yard.

Awesome, beautiful series of birds. Love the Downy Woodpecker shot and framing and a great shot of the Black-crowned Night Heron close-up! How special to see your Brown Thrasher off-season too! π

Thanks! Yes, with this mild winter, Iβm only 1/2 surprised. π it was good to get it in my list early.

Lovely photos! I have crossed Payne’s Prairie many times on the way to Tarpon Springs. I read that it was once a lake and that steam boats navigated it. π

Lovely companions to spend the winter with. What a nice surprise to see a Brown Thrasher so early. Their chestnut color is out of this world.

Lovely! I saw the MOST PERFECT bluebird yesterday. Of course I didnβt have my phone out and heβd flown away before I even really registered that he was there.

I think Iβve told you about Birdsong nature preserve just north of Tallahassee. If youβre ever in my area Iβd love to meet you there. Theyβve got this gorgeous viewing area and this time of year there are so many migratory birds visiting. Itβs a delightful place.
