My 2 favorite holidays are Halloween & Christmas. I love Halloween because for one day out of the year, I get to be something I’m not. The year that Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows book came out, I was Harry Potter. Pulled it off too. I’m only 5′ 1″ so when I used to trick-or-treat with my kids, I was literally going up and getting my own candy. I went through the trouble of putting together my own costume plus 3 kids, I was going to get something for it. Unfortunately, I can’t find the photos from the year I was Harry Potter. All the photos below were costumes that I wore to work the past 5 years.
2014 – Grumpy Killer Granny
2015 – Oompa Loompa from the original Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory
2016 – Groovy Hippie from the 60’s – The jeans were my hubby’s jeans that he once wore back in the day. He’s 10 years older than me.
2017 – Hula Hoop Girl from the 50’s – Photographed with my friend Amber. Neither of us knew we were dressing from the same decade. Note: My hula hoops in the background!
2018 – Deadly Bride – Groom slit my throat, drove a nail into my ring finger & left me at the altar.
I won best overall at work last year for this one.
2019 – You will have to wait until Friday to see what I become this Halloween! I have co-workers who follow my blog & it’s a secret.
Wow, you are REALLY into this, aren’t you?! Happy Halloween!

As soon as you mentioned Harry Potter I started thinking of the Inbetweeners movie. Did you get that there?

I don’t think so. We got the 8 & then fantastic beasts series.

This was a comedy series about four 16/17 year olds, with which there were some spin-off movies. The only reason I thought of HP was because at the start of one of the movies, they went to an HP-themed party.

Nope. Haven’t seen a movie like that. I’m sure I would enjoy it.

They are brilliant but after 100 minutes, you’ve had enough. It’s very schoolboy humour.

Yeah the teenager stuff in 5 wore me out a bit.

Love your costumes! The granny & the hippie were great. So fun to dress up. Halloween is my favorite, too. 🙂

Great costumes, Lisa. I bet your kids have great costumes, too. I am a big believer in pulling together a costume – no store bought costumes for me or my kids!

Thank you. My kids are all grown but they had awesome costumes when they were little. My son who is 33 now, sent me a photo tonight of him & his girlfriend. He was Forrest Gump & she was Jenny. It was great! Love the creativity. I will be posting my Halloween night blog tomorrow. It’s has been Florida/Georgia weekend here & not much getting done. 😉
